Introducing new Apta Lightweight

With Apta Lightweight, we’re saying hello to an exciting new chapter in rotationally moulded pots.

A new generation in sturdy but lightweight pots, the new Apta Lightweight range introduces trend-led designs and two distinct collections – Weben and Beton – all with a 10-year guarantee.

Thanks to a creative partnership with Formwerk – part of the Scheurich Group – we’re developing a new generation of plastic pots made with first-class, energy-efficient production and optimal workflows using rotational moulding technology.

Filling a gap in the plastic pot market, we’ve carried out extensive market research to ensure Apta Lightweight pots offer shoppers what they want: the stylish design, lightweight construction and robust quality that moulded ranges currently lack.

Features include:

  • Made from recyclable materials
  • 100% recyclable
  • Frost and UV resistance
  • Ideal for indoor and outdoor use

About Apta Lightweight

Designed with strong environmental credentials, Apta Lightweight products are made from recycled materials, and the pots are recyclable. All products are frost and UV resistant, perfect for indoors and outdoors.

There are two collections launching, both based on extensive market research.

Weben will showcase “woven” designs in three neutral colours and three pot sizes to choose from. Beton will feature four “concrete” planters in the same three neutral colours.

Commenting at the launch of Apta Lightweight at Glee 2023, AMES UK’s Managing Director, Paul North said: “Apta Lightweight marks a true next chapter for the Apta brand, and one that we believe will offer real tangible value for our retail customers.

“Our new lightweight offering, alongside Apta’s existing products, means the brand will now have a product hierarchy that opens up container gardening to all consumer demographics. In doing so, Apta reaffirms itself as the go-to supplier for all things pots.

“The scale of this venture is only possible due to our ground-breaking new partnership with Formwerk. Being able to work so closely with the production team to curate a product profile that best suits Apta’s needs has been an incredible journey that I’m sure is representative of a long and prosperous working relationship.”

When is Apta Lightweight available?

Apta Lightweight will be available for Season 24, which will also see the transition of the Plant Avenue brand into Apta Lightweight to create an all-encompassing lightweight range.

Previously part of the Kelkay portfolio and having been incorporated into Apta last year, rebranding Plant Avenue allows us to lead the way with a full portfolio of planters across all material types and orderable from one trusted supplier.

Apta Lightweight has launched at Glee so if you’re there, don’t miss out on exclusive deals!
